Malekula Norsup Airport Upgrade Project Phase I has completed the construction of two box culverts on the airport road, and currently excavation of the large excavated section of the airport road with slope maintenance and roadbed filling are under way. 80% of the earthworks of the airport road and disposal of the unsuitable material, filling and compacting 1,365 meters of the Subgrade Improvement Layer, 1,205 meters of the Lower roadbed Layer and 365 meters of the Upper roadbed Layer completed at the end of January.
The project has been under construction for three months, with an overall progress of 55%.💪 It is worth noting that Malekula Norsup Airport Upgrade Project Phase II has already been contracted with CCECC and is in the process of design, with the construction covering the clearing and earthworks of the airport runway.
