Papua New Guinea's National Flag Carrier, Air Niugini is set to make its maiden commercial flight into Vanuatu capital Port Vila, this Wednesday 24th June.
This comes as Air Niugini seeks to open up new routes in the Pacific Region and other overseas destinations.
The new flight is been made possible under the tripartite code share arrangement between Air Vanuatu and Air Solomon Islands.

Cyrille Mainguy has been re-elected secretary general of the Vanuatu Association of Sports And National Olympic Committee (VASANOC) during the body's Annual General Meeting in Port Vila, while it was also confirmed the Pacific nation will host next year's Oceania National Olympic Committees (ONOC) General Assembly.

Vanuatu's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Ham Lini, says trade and investment is vital for the country in the wake of Cyclone Pam.
He has welcomed delegates for the PACER Plus trade negotiations in Port Vila, saying that in the critical aftermath of Cyclone Pam Vanuatu needs the presence of its closest friends.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Forestry, Fisheries, and Biochemistry (MALFFB) and the Chinese Academy of Agriculture Mechanization Sciences (CAAMS) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding opening the way for CAAMS to assist MALFFB to promote Vanuatu's rural productive sector.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between UDBP, China Huashi Enterprise Limited and China South West Architectural Design Limited for the companies to be responsible for the construction project.
Commencement of the building is expected to start in the middle of this year to be completed in two years.

Hong Kong-listed gaming investor Amax International Holdings Ltd says it has completed the purchase of a 60 percent stake in Forenzia Enterprises Ltd, a firm that has access to an online gaming licence for the Pacific island nation of Vanuatu. The deal was closed for a total consideration of HKD48.1 million (US$6.2 million).
